Skip CanfieldPersonal Motto: “My favorite memories are the ones I haven’t made yet!”

Born and raised in Kansas and having lived in the area until 1999, Steve has always had a keen interest in boats and the water. He has been an active boater for over 30 years. His own crafts have been sailboats located on inland lakes in the Midwest and more recently the Jacksonville area. He has also cruised chartered boats in many waters to include the Pacific Northwest, California, Chesapeake Bay, Caribbean Islands and both coasts of Florida. Relocating to Florida he moved his 30’ sailboat from Kansas to Jacksonville via the inland rivers to the Gulf of Mexico and around to the Atlantic.

Steve has spent 34 years in the corporate world working in commercial building where he has had various jobs to include draftsman, estimator, project manager, sales and management. Steve has always valued his education and has an MBA in Management.

Since moving to Jacksonville he has earned his U.S. Coast Guard Captains and Masters License with sailing endorsement. He has also worked as a boat and delivery Captain. During the five years prior to joining Epping Forest Yacht Club he held the position of Waterways Coordinator and Dockmaster for the City of Jacksonville. He has conducted several events on the St. Johns River to include Tall Ship Festivals, Lighted Boat Parades, Blessing of the Fleet and Jacksonville’s Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005.

Steve is excited to plan activities for Epping Forest Yacht Club. He enjoys blending his business and customer service understanding with his love of boating to provide marina services to the Members.
