Roger was born and raised in Jacksonville, where he attended Bishop Kenny High School. He then went on to receive a full tennis scholarship to the University of North Florida. While playing tennis there, he achieved a national doubles ranking of #3. As a senior All-American, he went on to set the All-time school record for most career NCAA victories at UNF. 

After graduating with a Bachelors in Business Administration, Roger went on to work for his father’s telecommunications company as a job foreman. Soon after, he missed the calling of the tennis courts and came back to what he truly loved.

Roger’s teaching experience dates all the way back to his high school and college days at clubs like Deerwood, San Jose CC and ATP. Roger then established himself at Marsh Landing Country Club. He was promoted to Head Pro in 2003, as well as Director of Junior Tennis. Roger is a certified USPTA Professional since 2002, and was NFPTA President from 2006-2007.

In Roger’s spare time he likes to play golf and go to the movies, but mostly spend time with his family. His wife, Crystal, and his two daughters, Allyson and Grace, are what he treasures most in his life.
